Abstract
--The purposes of this two-year study are to collect
the information and literatures of flood damages in Taiwan or other
countries, and to assess the flood damage losses.
The relationships between the direct flood damage losses, flood
frequency, flood depth, and land use are analyzed and employed to
establish the “Systematic Models for Flood Damage Evaluation.”
Meanwhile, the data of the direct flood damage from Nari Typhoon
in Taipei Metropolitan (including Keelung city) in 2001 are collected
and investigated, and are set up for verification of the systematic
model on direct flood damage evaluations.
On the other hand, the “Systematic Model for Flood Damage Evaluation”
will include the indirect flood damage evaluation after the task
of “Documentation of Typhoons and Heavy Rainfalls of 2001” (another
project funded by WRA) finished.
Finally, the user manual of the Systematic Model for Flood Damage
Evaluation will be furnished. The training and extensions will be
done to promote the use of the models by government and consultants.
