Abstract -- The method proposed Kanamori et al. on 1993 was employed in this study to use Taiwan broadband network data to determine earthquake radiation energy and energy magnitude. The attenuation relationship was followed by the parameters of Shin on 1993. The broadband velocity time series were simulated as Wood-Anderson seismograms to estimate the local magnitude. Based on both information, the relationship between ES and ML will be constructed to use in Taiwan area. Preliminary results of this study showed the linear relationship of logES=2.0 ML+7.6. According to the energy magnitude definition of Karimori et al., the constructed relation in this study for earthquake energy and magnitude provided a unify relationship from small to large earthquakes. Hence, results of this study have great implications and applications for earthquake hazard, early report and warring.
